New Garden Centre Trolley - GCR6 Tray Trolley

February 2006

Roll Containers is pleased to announce the release of its latest garden centre trolley, the GCR6 Tray Trolley at an introductory price of just £75.00. This trolley is an evolution of the company’s GCR1 Classic trolley which has been a firm favourite for many years.

The handle is sleeved with our “warm touch” sleeving, offering a comfortable feel and smart appearance and the 11” wheels are well balanced to offer good maneuverability. The tray trolley framework is produced using our robot-welders from premium grade ¾” x 2mm tube to give a robust chassis within which is mounted a durable polyethylene tray.  For more information please contact us.

Launch Of Repair IT System "Repair Plus"

December 2005

Roll Containers has compiled a new software system to be used for its repair and maintenance service. The new system uses barcodes to monitor the individual repairs carried out on each cage and builds up a complete history for each cage. The management information can then be used for a multitude of purposes including:

·        To identify common repairs which may result from poor work practices.

·        To identify strengths and weaknesses of different types of cages and cages from different manufacturers.

·        Can be used to monitor the standard of our repair.

·        Can be used to cost repairs on an “actual work carried out” basis.

The system was successfully tested for a trial period before Christmas on the repair of Royal Mail Stillages on a national basis. Damaged units were delivered to our central repair facility in Kettering where they were scanned into the system. As each stillage was repaired, the operative scans his name, ensuring accountability, and each repair carried out against each stillage.

The system also allows a real time onsite status showing exactly what is on site and whether its ready for use. This service can be made available on line with password access via our website.

10,000 strong Rental Fleet

September 2006

Roll Containers has acquired a further substantial number of roll cages to add to its hire fleet. The roll cages are 2 sided ‘A’ frame nesters, with 5” sandwich wheels and are fully compatible with industry standard units. This now means that our hire fleet numbers over 10,000 cages which is one of the largest hire fleets in the Europe.

We have available a full range of cages from 2 sided ‘A’ frames to full security ‘A’ frames and, we believe uniquely, mesh sided ‘Z’ base roll cages. Hire periods can be from a weekend to 5 year contract periods.

Robot Welding Off Line Programming

July 2005

Roll Containers has upgraded its 4 Automated Robot Welding lines to allow off line programming. This new facility allows 85% of the program to be written in advance, reducing the time that a robot is down between new jobs.
